The 15 second debates
In the build-up to the 2013 German Federal Election we launched the 15 Second Debates for CNN international.
The digital platform driven campaign was the first campaign using Instagram’s brand new video function to create a format that brings political parties to the point in just 15 seconds. Topics were created in cooperation with national and international news platforms including CNN, RTL, N-TV, Stern, Les Echos, El País and Expressen by a panel of international journalists and the debates were voted by users.
The digital service that worked seamlessly on all devices was the core of an integrated multichannel campaign harnessing the statements and contents created within the debates. The service also included an embeddable live player for on air shows, news websites such as cnn.com and n-tv.de and for the website of Germany's political parties.
